The Can-Am Police Fire Games is a multi-sport Olympic-style event that promotes physical fitness and camaraderie among emergency and protective services personnel and their agencies.

Starting humbly between police and fire in 1977, the Games have grown to include emergency responders and protective service agencies from all over the world!

“Hosting the 2028 Can-Am Police-Fire Games is more than an opportunity to showcase our province and our capital city,” said the Minister of Community Safety, Michael Weger. “The Games bring together law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and the broader public safety community from across North America to celebrate service, camaraderie, and competition. I’m proud of the dedication our emergency response personnel show every day, and I know they will represent our province with pride as they compete with colleagues from across Canada and the United States.”

Regina is proud to host the 30th Anniversary of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games in August 2028!

Our Mission

To promote physical fitness and camaraderie among emergency and protective services personnel and their agencies.

These Games are about more than winning – they’re about wellness, resilience, and a shared purpose among those who protect our communities.

Let’s show off our prairie hospitality as we create a fun, safe, and collaborative experience for all.

Our Logo

The 2028 Can-Am Police Fire Games logo is a proud reflection of Saskatchewan’s identity and spirit.

The red and blue gradient background reflects the breathtaking sunsets and endless horizons that earned us the name “Land of Living Skies,” while also representing the colours proudly worn by police and fire services. The eagle and maple leaf, longstanding elements of every Can-Am Games logo, connect us to the broader tradition and unity of host communities across North America. Rising from the ground, golden wheat sheafs honour our deep agricultural roots and our reputation as Canada’s breadbasket.

Their heraldic styling reflects the many agency crests worn with pride across our province, symbolizing service, tradition and the strong sense of duty that unites first responders and the communities they serve. Finally, the circular design brings all of these elements together, representing unity, inclusion, and the everlasting bond that is created through a shared experience like the Can-Am Police-Fire Games.
